About me
I currently teach 7th grade math at Wright Middle School. I previously taught high school mathematics in Washington DC in the early 2000s. I went on to study volcanology at Stanford University, completing a PhD in Geological Sciences and an MS in Geophysics. Finding that my real passion was still mathematics education, I worked with K-12 teachers through Boise State from 2010-2021 and in the Education Outreach and Partnerships office at University of Wisconsin, Madison from 2012-2018. I returned to classroom teaching at the middle school level in 2021. My focus is on building the content and pedagogical knowledge of teachers to make mathematics more accessible for all students. I continue to facilitate professional development in the summer through the Boise State University Mathematics Instruction, Learning and Leadership program.
